The year 2024 marks a significant milestone for Kia, as it unveils a captivating range of new and improved electric vehicles (EVs) that blend advanced technology, eco-conscious design, and exhilarating performance. Expanding from the Kia Soul and 2023 Kia Niro, Kia’s 2024 lineup showcases the brand’s dedication to shaping a sustainable and exciting future on the road, promising 11 new Kia EVs by 2026. In this article, we explore the diverse 2024 Kia EV ranges. From urban commuters to versatile crossovers, each model offers unique charm and capabilities.

2024 Kia EV6

Already a master of its time, we don’t expect many significant changes to the 2024 EV6. Keeping its sleek, futuristic facade, the 2024 model comes with an ultra-modern front end, a sporty rear end, bold black wheel arches, and an aerodynamic spoiler. Equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery, it delivers up to 310 all-electric miles and 576 horsepower. Performance is impressive, with the GT model accelerating from zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. It charges quickly, too, achieving 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. A low center of gravity makes for agile handling and a smooth ride.

This five-passenger sport crossover is quite fuel efficient, with the single-motor EV6 offering up to 117 combined MPGe, while the dual-motor GT and high-performance GT offer 109 and 79 MPGe, respectively. Inside, a spacious cabin provides heated front seats, a two-spoke steering wheel, and 50.2 cubic feet of cargo space. Advanced tech includes a digital dashboard, a push-start button on the center console, and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment center that responds to voice commands. You’ll also find wireless smartphone charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a Meridian audio system.

2024 Kia EV9

The 2024 EV9 is one of the few three-row all-electric SUVs. It’s available in highly responsive rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with high ground clearance. The standard EV9 comes with a 76.1 kWh battery with a driving range of 223 miles and a single-motor electric engine delivering 215 horsepower. If you’re looking for more reliable distance, the standard Long Range models come with a 99.8 kWh battery that can achieve 300 miles of all-electric driving range. Its performance is slightly less remarkable at 201 horsepower, but as an SUV, performance isn’t the top priority for the EV9.

If it is, the all-wheel drive, delivering 379 horsepower, may be a better choice. It’s also the punchiest, accelerating from zero to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds. The EV9 is fast charging, achieving 10% to 80% charge in 24 minutes. Inside, the family-size SUV can seat up to seven passengers, depending on the configuration of the second row. As with the front seats, second-row captain’s seats offer heating, ventilation, and even massaging. It features 82 cubic feet of cargo space when the second and third rows are folded flat and an impressive towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

2023 Kia Niro EV

The innovative 2023 Kia Niro is larger than the previous generation. A bold exterior with an all-electric powertrain means zero emissions while delivering near-instant acceleration and 201 horsepower. It can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and is controlled with various drive modes, such as Sport, Eco, and Normal. The Niro can achieve an EPA-estimated driving range of 253 miles and 113 MPGe, and it charges quickly. An optional portable Webasto Go system is ideal for charging phones, laptops, and more on the go.

Inside, the EV offers ample space and legroom. Passenger comfort is supported by heated seats and an available heated steering wheel. Best-in-class tech includes a remote warm-up feature that allows you to heat the cabin from anywhere. It also comes with an available heat pump to prolong your driving range in adverse conditions. The available dual panoramic displays offer a massive 20-inch interface with touchscreen capabilities for navigation, connection, and entertainment. Cargo space is notable with 63.7 cubic feet and a smart power tailgate for easy loading.

2024 Niro Hybrid or Plug-In Hybrid

The 2024 Niro Hybrid offers the best of both options, with an efficient 1.6-liter engine paired with an electric motor. Enjoy the thrill of a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and regenerative braking technology. The plug-in hybrid comes with an 11.1 kWh battery that delivers up to 33 miles of electric driving range and recharges in under three hours. EPA estimates it to achieve a combined 49 mpg.

Inside the spacious interior of this five-seater crossover, you can expect best-in-class legroom with 39.8 inches in the rear. Enjoy features such as heated front seats, an infotainment center with voice-recognition commands, and wireless phone charging. Unlike the EVs that offer 20 standard driver-assistance technologies, the hybrid comes with 13, including blind-spot collision warning. Storage options rival the larger SUVs, with 63.7 cubic feet of cargo space.

2023 Sportage Hybrid or Plug-In Hybrid

The 2024 Sportage Hybrid is more than 7 inches longer than the previous generation. There’s much to be said about the upgraded model, with best-in-class 41.3 inches of rear seating legroom and 73.7 cubic feet of cargo space. Complete with active all-wheel drive, four drive modes, and 8.3 inches of ground clearance, the Sportage is the ideal companion in all conditions.

Enjoy the peace of mind of a turbo hybrid powertrain offering 261 horsepower and 34 miles of all-electric driving range. Level 2 chargers provide a full charge in under two hours. Advanced tech includes a heated windshield, panoramic sunroof, and a 12.3-inch dual panoramic display. Creature comforts also include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.

2023 Sorento Hybrid or Plug-In Hybrid

The 2023 Sorento Hybrid features a turbocharged hybrid drivetrain that delivers 655 miles of combined range. The plug-in hybrid offers 32 miles of electric driving range before needing a recharge. This six-seater crossover offers three-row seating as standard, complete with second-row captain’s chairs and split-folding third-row seats. You can expect 227 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque, and decent fuel efficiency with 36 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. Features include front and rear parking sensors, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, LED fog lights, a smart power tailgate, and an available panoramic sunroof.
