Landon Winery makes for a perfect date-night destination with wine, charcuterie, and an inviting atmosphere. Located in the heart of downtown McKinney, this winery is also an excellent way to start off a night on the town with your date. Enjoy the fresh air on the open patio or have a more intimate date in the tasting room. The wine-tasting experience features five wines of your choice, or you can choose from a guided tasting. You can select the elevated tasting for an additional fee, which includes a charcuterie for one.

Looking for something more than just wine and food? Landon Winery has you covered. Check out the calendar for regular events such as Gourmet Popcorn + Wine + Movie Trivia or Wine Down Wednesday. Landon Winery has a few locations in the area, so make sure to look for the McKinney location when checking the event calendar. For something creative or educational, attend the Charcuterie 101 workshop or a class for painting your own wine glasses.

If you’re interested in making this a regular outing, you may want to consider joining the wine club. Membership is free and provides benefits like 20% off of all purchases in the winery, exclusive members-only events and promotions, and first access to new offerings. Landon Winery is open Sunday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., Friday from noon to 11 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Go Ape Zipline and Adventure Park

Tired of your usual dinner-and-movie date night? Take to the trees for your next outing at Go Ape. Located in nearby Plano, this adventure park isn’t for the faint of heart but is an excellent option for thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies. While the destination is family-friendly, you can still leave the kids at home and have a fantastic bonding experience with your partner. The 40 unique obstacles will test your strength, courage, and resolve while helping your partner do the same on this treetop adventure.

You and your love will quickly find yourselves 27 feet up in the treetop canopies with so much to explore. Experience the views of the local landscape below you on over 8 miles of trails. If you’re really feeling adventurous, take the zipline across Rowlett Creek. The full adventure course will take you roughly two or three hours to complete and leave you with countless stories to tell.

The experience starts with a 30-minute briefing on course etiquette and how to properly use the equipment. You will be provided with safety equipment and gear, such as harnesses, pulleys, and carabiners. Once you have completed the necessary fittings and training, you are free to self-navigate the courses. The experience cost is $64.95 for ages 16 and up, and advanced booking is available but not required.
