If you’re seeking a free, family-friendly Fourth of July celebration in McKinney, Red, White, and BOOM! could be the perfect event for you. Presented by the City of McKinney and Craig Ranch, this event will feature a hometown parade and the Yankee Doodle block party. Attendees can enjoy family activities, live entertainment, and an exquisite fireworks show. 

While in the area, you may be interested in eating, shopping, and exploring downtown McKinney. This historic town offers charming shops, delicious cuisine, and vibrant entertainment. Consider visiting Monarchs of McKinney, a public art installation of eight oversized Monarch butterfly sculptures. Dine and play as if you’re back in the ’80s at Arcade 92, a retro arcade, bar, and restaurant. You may also want to peruse unique shops like Habitat Plants and Coffee or Birds & Words, a home boutique. Adults over the drinking age may enjoy some wine tasting at Landon Winery.

This event will occur on Monday, July 4, 2022. The parade kicks off at 10 a.m., and the Yankee Doodle Block Party follows, lasting from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both events happen in downtown McKinney. From 5 to 10 p.m., you can enjoy the Family Festival & Fireworks at the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch. Children’s Parade in Flower Mound

Visit the quaint town of Flower Mound this holiday for the annual Fourth of July Children’s Parade. Decorated bikes, trikes, wagons, and strollers will promenade a short route to a parking lot. There will then be free hot dogs offered by the Summit Club of Flower Mound, drinks, children’s activities, and live entertainment. This event will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4. The lineup for the parade begins at 9:30 a.m. on the corner of Eaton and Timber Creek Road. 

Pride in the Sky Independence Day Celebration in Prosper

Head up to the town of Prosper, just 25 minutes away, to have fun at the 10th annual Pride in the Sky Independence Day celebration. Sponsored by Cedarbrook Media in partnership with the Town of Prosper, this annual community tradition consists of live music, food, and substantial kid zones with activities, games, rides, and inflatables. Of course, you’ll get to see fireworks set to music at the end of the night. You’ll also get to see a special posting of the flags ceremony. 

This event is beloved as one of the best displays of patriotism in North Dallas. It’s occurring on Saturday, July 2, from 5 to 10 p.m. The location is Frontier Park at 1151 West Frontier Parkway in Prosper. For more details about this event, call 972-347-6231.

All American 4th in Plano

Just a 30-minute drive away in the city of Plano, there’s yet another free Fourth of July celebration open to the public. At All American 4th, along with a vendor market, free kid zone, and static parade floats from Rotary Clubs of Plano, you’ll also have available food and beverages. Be sure to bring your blankets and lawn chairs, as the fireworks set to music will start at 9:30 p.m. You might even bring a picnic or drinks in a cooler to enjoy while you watch the show.

All American 4th happens on Monday, July 4, from 6 to 10 p.m. The location of this event is the north side of the Collin College parking lot at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Parking is available at Collin College, First United Methodist Church Plano, and the events center. For event rules, be sure to view the website.

Annual Weston Independence Day Parade

Parades abound throughout Texas for Independence Day. Join the patriotic pride this year in Weston, the oldest city in Collin County, for the 37th Annual Weston Independence Day Parade. The parade starts at 10 a.m. on Main Street. You’ll also get to enjoy a face painter, music, ice cream and shaved ice, a raffle benefitting The Weston Post, a bake sale, grilled food, and other activities.

July Spectacular in Princeton

On Sunday, July 3, consider driving 30 minutes away to Princeton for the annual July Spectacular. This fun event will feature live music, arts and crafts, food vendors, beer and wine, a kids’ zone, and a spectacular fireworks show. This event, at J.M. Red, White & Blue Blast in Sachse

Every year, the city of Sachse hosts the Red, White & Blue Blast. This year, it will be on Sunday, July 3, at Heritage Park, starting at 6 p.m. You’ll be able to experience live entertainment, food trucks, games, vendors, and even water activities.
