Carpe Diem Comics

Carpe Diem Comics in McKinney offers not only comics but also games and other items, such as collectibles, hobby painting and supplies, and dice. The store hosts events throughout the week, such as open gaming, magic nights, and Warhammer 40K. 

In addition to the physical store, where you can browse through all the products in person, you can go online and order items through Carpe Diem Comic’s website. The site has lots of paints for modeling and an extensive selection of games you can browse, as well. If you’re looking for a comic book, your best bet is to visit the store, as it has a wide selection you can choose from. 

Carpe Diem is located at 208 East Louisiana Street. The shop opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. On Sundays, it closes at 7 p.m., and it’s closed on Mondays.

Madness Games and Comics

Located a short drive from McKinney in Plano, Madness Games and Comics is a pop culture store with an extensive selection of comics. It also stocks board games, vintage and new toys, trading cards, role-playing games, posters, manga, and trade paperbacks. This store is very large and has a wide selection of products you can spend hours browsing. 

For Star Wars fans, Madness Games and Comics has a large modern Star Wars collection with more than 1,600 items starting from production in the early 2000s. It also has Marvel, Lego, Hot Wheels, and Funko figurines. Madness Games and Comics operates an online store you can visit, but the selection is much larger in store. The shop also hosts events such as Dungeons and Dragons and Magic nights. 

Madness Games and Comics is located at 3000 Custer Road, Suite 310, in Plano. It’s open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Fridays, the shop is open from 11 a.m. until midnight. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, Madness Games open earlier at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. on Wednesday and midnight on Saturday.  

Pop Culture Collectibles

While Pop Culture Collectibles specializes in selling Pop! figurines, it also has a selection of comic books as well as video games, anime, cosplay, signed memorabilia, and other figurines. Pop Culture Collectibles has an online store where you can shop more than 1,500 Funko Pop! figurines, including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Television, to name a few themes. Funko Pop! figurines $12.95 and up come with free soft protectors to keep your collectible safe.

Pop Culture Collectibles is located at 6121 West Park Boulevard, in Plano. It’s open Sunday through Thursday from noon until 6 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Titan Comics

Titan Comics is located in Dallas and is considered one of the best places to go shopping for comics in the area. The store encompasses over 4,700 square feet and includes comics and books from all publishers. The store has a back issue selection of more than 90,000 issues from as far back as 1942 and stocks more than 18,000 trade back books. In addition to books, Titan Comics sells Pop! figurines, posters, and T-shirts. 

You can view Titan Comics inventory list for a complete list of in-store products and contact the shop directly for prices. The list includes each comic’s variant letter and condition. You can also shop for Titan Comics products through eBay, Amazon, and Comic Collector Live. 

Visit Titan Comics at 2128 Forest Lane, Suite 250, in Dallas. The shop is open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. 

Boomerang Comics and Games

You can find a wide variety of comics at Boomerang Comics, including editions from mainstream publishers as well as smaller, independent publishers. In addition to comics, Boomerang sells graphic novels, manga, collectibles, and action figures. If you enjoy playing board games, card games, or role-playing games, you can find lots of new options at Boomerang comics, too. 

If you are a big comic book fan, Boomerang has a subscription service for visitors who want to purchase a custom list of comics each week. The bonus is you get 10% off the comics you order. Boomerang Comics also has frequent buyer rewards that give you in-store discounts and credit toward your next purchase. 

Boomerang Comics hosts events such as a book club, ladies’ nights, Friday night magic nights, and Hero Clix superhero tournaments. Star Wars fans can play X-Wing Minis, which is a tactical ship-to-ship battle game. Be sure to visit the Boomerang Website for a complete list of events and times.

The shop is open Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Comic book stores offer so much more than a place to buy a comic book. They provide an escape to peruse your favorite comic, movie, or action character’s memorabilia, books, posters, and T-shirts. Some have lots of games you can play, and most take you back to your childhood or have you imagining a future full of adventure.
