Brunch Spots To Try in McKinney, TX

Now that the weather is slowly getting warmer and families in Texas are looking to spend more time out of the house during the weekend, there’s nothing like a lovely brunch to bring everyone together. Venture out to one of the many unique and delicious spots around McKinney to start your weekend right.

At Huffines Kia McKinney, we do whatever we can to help our neighbors and customers, whether fixing up your car at our top-notch service center or pointing you to the best dining establishments in town. Whether you want a venue perfect for friends and mimosas or food and fun for the whole family, at least one of the places on the list we’ve compiled below will suit you.

Eggsquisite Cafe

This family-owned restaurant is one of the top-rated establishments in McKinney and a favorite brunch spot for families. Open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the restaurant has a decor and menu designed for the perfect brunch. Local favorites include the classic biscuit and gravy omelet, Cajun chicken and waffles, fresh avocado toast, and Very Berry crepes for those looking for something lighter.

Order the homemade fresh-squeezed orange juice if you want that extra dose of flavor and vitamins in the morning. For those who get up a little too late for a proper brunch, do not worry. Eggsquisite Cafe serves a fantastic lunch menu, including various decadent, delicious sandwiches, melts, burgers, salads, wraps, and paninis. You can even enjoy an extra shot of caffeine with one of the many specialty coffees on the menu.

Fairview Farmers

Loyal customers love visiting Fairview Farmers for the incredible food, charming atmosphere, and the restaurant’s friendly, excellent service. Anyone who has dined here knows the Down on the Farm Skillet is absolutely delicious, as are the Farmer’s Omelet and chicken and waffles. If you want to come here with friends for a Sunday Funday, you’ll be happy to know the freshly squeezed orange juice also goes into the restaurant’s tasty mimosas.

For those who are looking for a brunch spot to visit with their families, especially with young kids, Fairview Farmers has everything you need. In addition to plenty of highchairs and a special kids’ menu, the restaurant offers activity sheets that the kids can play with and work on while waiting for the food to arrive.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Sunday

Layered

If you want to spend the day exploring downtown McKinney, fuel up with a delicious, energizing brunch at Layered. The interior decor and menu are closer to a cafe than a brunch spot, but this restaurant will give you the caffeine you need to start your day with one of their gourmet, exquisite cups of coffee roasted in-house.

The space has a warm, comfortable community feel intended to encourage gathering and socializing among patrons. In addition to the many coffee varieties available, you’ll also find many baked goods and unique family recipes geared toward breakfast and lunch dishes.

Barney’s Brunch House

As the name shows, Barney’s Brunch House was built all around brunch. This kid-friendly restaurant is a favorite among McKinney families, as servers take special care to cater to children. Though you’ll have to drive to Frisco, the trip is well worth it. When it comes to dishes, you’ll want to try the Red Velvet Pancakes with cream cheese glaze and chocolate sauce. There’s also the Heavenly Hash, with corned beef, onion, hash browns, Swiss cheese, and two eggs in any style you choose. Finish it off with some fresh orange juice served on the side.

The only issue with this restaurant is that it tends to get busy quickly on the weekends, leading to long wait times. Though the restaurant doesn’t accept reservations, you can get on the waitlist via Yelp if you think you’re heading there during a busy time. Barney’s Brunch House opens from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Starwood Cafe

McKinney residents who want to forego upscale decor and dishes will love Starwood Cafe in Adriatica Village. This place prides itself on serving the best American comfort food in town. The comfortable atmosphere and rich, indulgent food make this cafe one of the top-rated and busiest places in the area.

Try the Belgian waffles, buttermilk pancakes (made from scratch), and flavorful skillet dishes. Some specific favorites include the Very Berry Waffle, which comes with multiple toppings, including raspberry-vanilla glaze and a variety of fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries), or the Breakfast Power Bowl if you’re looking for a healthier option.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

B&B Cafe

With skillets, scrambles, toasts, and eggs, B&B Cafe has all the ingredients you need for a perfect brunch. Stop by this cute and casual cafe to experience delicious American brunch staples, exceptional service, and a great overall dining experience. Since this restaurant is popular, there’s often a bit of a wait, but the line usually moves fast thanks to the cafe’s quick and efficient service.

Customers highly recommend the Chicken Fried Steak, Bacado three-egg omelet, and brioche French toast. Even if none of these sound like something you’d eat, do not worry — the menu has a vast variety of dishes, with something sure to satisfy almost everyone who walks in the door. The restaurant opens from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
