Attending a parade and taking in the cheerful sights and sounds of marching bands, floats, and children on colorfully decorated bikes is a fantastic way to kick off a day of celebration. Our team at Huffines Kia McKinney has put together a list of some of the parades in the Dallas, Texas, area for your parade viewing pleasure.
The Lake Cities 4th of July
The communities of Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek, and Shady Shores join together to salute the Nation’s birth at the Lake Cities 4th of July. The celebration kicks off with an awe-inspiring parade. You’ll enjoy watching participants compete for prizes as they travel the parade route. They’re scored based on how well their theme represents the spirit of Independence Day, as well as the details, design, and execution of their work and the music, beauty, and creativity of their presentations. The parade won’t disappoint, nor will the full day of festivities that follows.

Location: 101 E. Hundley Drive, Lake Dallas.
Red, White and Boom
As part of McKinney’s Red, White and Boom two-day, 4th of July celebration, the hometown parade and Yankee Doodle block party are events you won’t want to miss. You’ll see fabulous floats, antique cars, marching bands, and more at the parade, and then you can revel in patriotic camaraderie at the block party. The celebration kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on Independence Day Eve with activities for the whole family, including a kids’ zone, concerts, and fireworks show.

Parade Down Parkway
The City of Coppell’s Parade Down Parkway delivers on the red, white, and blue. With vehicles, bikes, and people decorated in the colors of the American flag, you can bask in the hues of the Fourth of July while celebrating our Nation’s independence. Adding to the spirit, there are also patriotic floats designed and built by residents and businesses.

Location: The parade starts at Samuel Boulevard and Sandy Lake Road, Coppell.
July 4th Bike Parade
The annual Fairview Town Center July 4th Bike Parade invites people to celebrate the holiday with friendly competition and family fun. You can watch as entrants decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, and strollers in the colors of the flag, and then cheer them on as they parade around competing to win the best decorated parade vehicle and the most patriotic outfit prizes. After the parade, there are free family activities that keep the good times rolling.

Location: Fairview Town Center, Fairview.
Lakewood 4th of July Parade
For more than 50 years, the Lakewood 4th of July Parade has remained steadfast in its purpose to host a true, family-style neighborhood parade for kids of all ages. You’ll enjoy seeing a neighborhood come together to provide entertainment for all. Neighbors who participate in the parade compete for medals in categories including best theme costume, most creative float, best musical entry, and best auto entry. At the end of the parade, the winners receive medals, and yearly theme buttons are passed out to all in attendance while they enjoy free soft drinks, watermelon, and snow cones.

Location: The parade starts at the corner of Lakewood Boulevard and Cambria Boulevard, Dallas.
Lake Highlands 4th of July Parade
The Lake Highlands 4th of July Parade features fire trucks, floats galore, decorated bikes, and more. Immediately after the parade, you can partake in more patriotic fun and games at the carnival in the circle drive next to the Lake Highlands Aquatic Center. The carnival also features music to please your ears and food to sate your appetite.

Sparks & Stripes: Parade & Watermelon Social
In Irving, the Sparks & Stripes: Parade & Watermelon Social brings you the perfect sights and sounds, along with the succulent taste of watermelon, to make your Fourth of July one of the coolest ever. The parade features festive floats, marching bands, and more. At the Watermelon Social, you’ll enjoy music from the Jade Flores Band while celebrating the holiday.

Annual Park Cities 4th of July Parade
University Park and Highland Park are the Dallas suburbs that gave the Annual Park Cities 4th of July Parade its name. Parade spectators are not only thrilled by the procession of red, white, and blue entertainment, but also by the fact that the Rotary Club of Park Cities, which organizes the event, raises money to provide meals to people in need.

Location: The parade starts on Euclid Avenue near Highland Park Town Hall.
All American 4th
The City of Plano’s All American 4th festival presents the perfect opportunity to extend your parade-viewing adventures into the evening. The parade, hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Plano, includes patriotic floats, firetrucks, and more. It begins at 7:30 p.m. and is followed by a spectacular fireworks display. The festival features a kids’ zone, and food and beverages.
