The 2022 Kia Telluride is a great three-row SUV that’s sure to please a lot of people. When you begin exploring the 2022 Kia Telluride, you’ll come across several trim-level options. Below, we’ll outline the differences between these trim levels to help you better decide which option is best for you.

For the 2022 Kia Telluride, there are four trim levels available. These trim levels, along with their MSRPs, are:

  • 2022 Kia Telluride LX: $32,790
  • 2022 Kia Telluride S: $35,290
  • 2022 Kia Telluride EX: $37,790
  • 2022 Kia Telluride SX: $42,690

By offering customers more choices in terms of included features, Kia makes it easier to find a vehicle that fits your needs and budget.

2022 Kia Telluride LX

The first trim level available for the 2022 Kia Telluride is the LX. It may be the most basic trim level, but don’t let that fool you. The 2022 Kia Telluride LX still has plenty of features that you’re sure to love. The LX trim comes with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque for starters. In addition, you can expect to get around 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway; if you opt for all-wheel drive, your efficiency changes to a still respectable 19/24 mpg.

One of the most impressive things about the 2022 Kia Telluride LX is the number of features that come standard. Some of the features that come with the base trim include:

  • A leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • A 10.3-inch infotainment display touchscreen
  • Automatic temperature control
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity

2022 Kia Telluride S

The next step up is the 2022 Kia Telluride S. This is a solid choice to consider if you like the LX trim but wish it had a little more to make it stand out visually. The Telluride S adds contrasting chrome elements to the front grille, exterior moldings, and door handles, helping the S trim look a little more stylish than the LX trim.

Of course, the upgrades to the S trim aren’t only cosmetic. One of the biggest benefits of getting the S trim comes standard with heated seats in the front, a sunroof, and more comfortable captain’s chairs in the second row. Finally, the wheels go from 18-inches to 20-inches. Considering the slight price increase from the LX to the S, spending a little more to get these great features often makes sense, as they can make your driving experience significantly more enjoyable.

2022 Kia Telluride EX

The EX trim of the 2022 Kia Telluride actually reverts to some of the options found in the LX version rather than remaining with the upgrades found in the S trim. For example, the EX comes standard with 18-inch wheels rather than 20-inch, and the second row goes back to a 60/40 folding bench. Why then does the 2022 Kia Telluride EX cost more than the 2022 Kia Telluride S? It’s because of all the other premium upgrades.

Some of the features you’ll find standard in the 2022 Kia Telluride EX include:

  • Power-folding mirrors
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • A power liftgate
  • Leather seating
  • Eight-way power-adjustable front seats
  • Additional USB ports
  • A sunshade screen in the second row

The EX is the trim to get if you want most of the great features available in the 2022 Kia Telluride. If you don’t mind missing out on the captain’s chairs in the second row, getting this model over the S trim often makes sense due to all the additional features. And, if you really want to get those 20-inch wheels found in the S trim, those are an optional add-on for the EX trim, so you can still get them.

2022 Kia Telluride SX

Finally, there’s the 2022 Kia Telluride SX. This option is where you’ll get practically every feature that Kia has to offer in its SUVs. A lot of the upgrades in this trim are simply better versions of the features found in the other trims. For example, the SX comes with a dual sunroof rather than the standard sunroof found in the S trim. Another example is the audio system, which upgrades to a 10-speaker Harman Kardon stereo for the best audio experience.

Kia also adds additional safety features to the SX. Within this trim, you’ll find a surround-view camera system, a warning system when parking your vehicle, and a blind-spot monitoring system. Therefore, if you want an SUV with as many safety features as possible, perhaps this trim is the one to get, as many of these features are exclusive to the S trim.

Which 2022 Kia Telluride Is Best for You?

There are a few primary factors to consider when deciding which 2022 Kia Telluride trim to get. A good thing to do is make a list of the features you absolutely must have in your vehicle. For example, you may want a power liftgate, while a dual sunroof is not a necessity for you. In this case, you may prefer to get the 2022 Kia Telluride EX rather than the SX. When listing features, be sure to think about the safety features you want in your vehicle.

Finally, consider your budget. While the 2022 Kia Telluride is an affordable vehicle when you factor in all of the features, some of these features may not be that important to you. The powertrain remains the same throughout each trim, so it’s really a matter of how much you’re willing to spend for comfort, entertainment, style, and safety upgrades.
